Christine Gittoes - Cert.Ed; MSc (Health Promotion)
Chris is an experienced facilitator in the public and voluntary sector.
She has been working in the field of Health Promotion/Public Health for the past twenty years across mid and West Wales. She was an original member of the well-respected Heartbeat Wales team. She managed a large Health Promotion Dept covering Powys and Ceredigion as well as setting up and managing the Dyfed Powys Smoking Cessation Service. She has acted as the CHD Public Health Specialist for the now defunct Dyfed Powys Health Authority. She set up and co-ordinated the highly successful multi - agency Powys Health Alliance which resulted in the development of a wide range of health improvement schemes, ranging from community transport to youth counselling to care and repair schemes of homes of vulnerable people. A former Chair of the Young People's Partnership in Powys, Chris has vast experience of developing, implementing and evaluating children and young people's services.
She possesses a Masters Degree in Health Promotion from the University of Wales College of Medicine
Chris was a Sports Council for Wales Council Board member from 2000 until 2008 She was the Lead member for Participation and Physical
Activity and also chaired the Community Investment Panel (Finance). She was Vice Chair of the Communication and Marketing Panel and a member of the Corporate Services Committee.
