Mag Richards - BSc Econ, DASS.. CQSW
Mag is a registered social worker and practice teacher. She has worked as an ASW (Approved Social Worker) as a development manager in the voluntary sector, and as a Non Officer Member of Powys Local Health Board.
Her experience in the health and social care sector spans many years and has involved working in Sheffield, Liverpool, London and now in Powys where she lives with her family. She has developed a particular interest in patient and public participation, partnership working and training.
Her interest in participation stems from her own personal experiences of living in an inner city area and then later as a parent carer, She is a co-founder of Shorefields Residents Association, Powys Patients Council, Radnor Support Project , and Dyfed/Powys User Training Consortium,
For 18 years Mag worked as a development manager in the mental health field where she acquired a wide range of organizational and management skills and was able to develop her interest in training , research and evaluation, She also has extensive experience of running conferences and seminars and has written a number of papers and articles,

- Mag has the ability to see opportunities for co-operation and joint working and building on pre-existing strengths
- She has been instrumental in leading a number of multi-agency initiatives including a Healthy Living Centre, a European funded research project and a feasibility study which led to a county wide youth couselling service.
- Mag has a broad training portfolio which spans interpersonal skills, good organizational practice, and social inclusion. Organisations in the Czech Republic have commissioned her training on joint working and planning .
- She has a progressive and systematic approach to establishing projects based on realistic analysis and outcome measurements, She also has a good track record of attracting funding from a range of sources.
- She is currently a Mental Health Act Manager with Powys LHB
